How to activate MTN 4G-LTE service on your MTN SIM

MTN Nigeria is one of the  first ISP to introduce the 4G-LTE network to it customers, this happened after the successful purchase of visafone early this year. 

The MTN 4G-LTE network is available to all mtn subscribers in all the states in Nigeria.
However, you must have a 4G-LTE enable smartphone and swap your MTN SIM to MTN 4G SIM at any MTN office closer to you in other to start using the service. 


In other for you to enjoy the MTN 4G-LTE network, your smartphone must be 4G enable, after confirming this, simply send "4G to 131".
you will receive a text message saying "Yello! Your device is 4G ready but you need to upgrade your SIM to enjoy MTN 4G LTE. Please visit the nearest MTN store or partner retailer for a sim swap now." and if your smartphone is not compatible, you will also get a text message saying; "Yello! You need to upgrade your SIM card and device to enjoy MTN 4G LTE. Please visit the nearest MTN store or partner retailer to upgrade now."

If you get the first message, simply head to the nearest MTN office closer to you to swap you SIM to MTN 4G-LTE SIM. 

How to subscribe to MTN 4G-LTE data plan 


After confirming that your smartphone is 4G enabled and have made a SIM swap to MTN 4G-LTE network, you can subscribe to any of the 4G data plan by dialing *444#.

Below are the list of MTN 4G-LTE plans you can subscribe to.

1. 100MB for N500 (Valid for 7 days).
2. 150MB for N499 (Valid for 24 hours).
3. 200MB for N1000 (Valid for 30 days).
Unlimited data for N36,999 (Valid for 30 days).
4. 42GB for N66499 (Valid for 12 Months).
5. 10GB for N6000 (Valid for 30 days).
6. 15GB for N10,000 (Valid for 30 days).

Glo Nigeria have also launch her own 4G-LTE network with affordable data plans, though MTN Nigeria is known for fast connectivity with wider coverage network, it's now left for you to choose which is more suitable for you.
